The process in which ammonium compounds are formed by decomposition of nitrogenous organic compounds.
Alkalization
A process through which the exchangeable sodium on the exchange surface of soil particles is increased
Amonia Volatilization
In soil with low cation exchange capacity and high pH associated with high concentration of ammonia and high temperature, amonia gets lost in vapour form which is technically called as ammonia volatilization
Autotrophic:
Capable of utilizing carbon dioxide or carbonate as the sole source of carbon and obtaining energy for life processes from oxidation of inoranic elements or from radient energy Contrast is with heterotrophic.
Anion
An ion carrying a negative electrical charge like Cl2 SO4, CO3 etc.
Antibiotic
A substance produce by one species of organism that, in low concentrations will kill or inhibit the growth of certain other organism which is not desirable.
Adhesion :
It refers to molecular attraction which holds the surfaces of two substances in contact, that is water and sand particle.
Absorption:
The attraction of compounds to surface of a solid.
Aerobic Condition
It indicates presence of molecular oxygen as a part of the pore space with in the soil complex.
Anaerobic Condition
In refers to the condition of absence of molecular oxygen or free oxygen
